Kid-Safe Chemicals Act

Everyday, there seems to be more and more information on how we are exposed to hundreds of industrial chemicals – with little or no idea of the consequences. Coming across an article from the EWG (Environmental Working Group), every parent should take the time to look at this video which explains that babies are born with as many as 300 industrial chemicals already in their bodies at birth. As a parent, this information seems shocking. But as parents, we can make a difference with even small steps. Share this information and sign the petition to protect our children. Research products before you buy. We live in a world where information is at our fingertips and the choices and decisions we make from our most basic purchases can bring positive change.

Pack and Save

There are so many great articles out there on how packing your own lunch helps save money. We found this one that seemed to sum up all the pros along with some helpful tips:
http://www.fwhorch.blogspot.com/2009/08/pack-lunch.html
It starts by listing the first fact:
"(1) A recent article in Forbes magazine listed packing your own lunch as the number one way to save money at your job, with an estimated annual savings of $780."

Wow! That is probably the minimum you would save in a year and that number could easily get into the thousands depending on how much a person normally spends on eating lunch out every day.
Packing your own lunch to school or work is not only a great way to save money, but it also leads to healthier eating habits while being good to our environment. Stay in style too with a Milkdot lunch tote.

Why choose PVC-free?

Like most parents, we assume that if a product for children is in a store, it should be safe.

But we have all heard of the many recalls for toys because of dangerous amounts of lead found in them. Lead naturally occurs in trace amounts throughout our environment. Besides lead found in paint, lead also ends up in vinyl, otherwise known as polyvinyl chloride or PVC. PVC, also known as the poison plastic is extremely harmful to our health and the environment and is linked to cancer and birth defects. Disturbingly, it is still used in many products for children.
And in lunch bags, specifically, it can be found in the lining which has direct contact with food, and is often used as a coating on polyester and nylon fabrics for durability. Milkdot products are PVC-free and tested lead-safe.

stöh lunch tote

Milkdot is proud to introduce the Stöh lunch tote to parents who have been searching for a lunch bag that isn't too generic or typical and loud with cartoon characters. This is a bag that Moms will love to carry for their little ones not only for its cuteness (think cupcakes) and its simple, clean modern design, but also because the bag is PVC-free and thoroughly tested for lead.

And with today's economy concerns, bringing your own lunch to work or play also makes this bag perfect for stylish gals who want to cut costs on eating out every day. It totally justifies using that extra cash to indulge on those "got to have" sandals you've been eyeing.
